Welcome to Roanoke House of Prayer
At Roanoke House of Prayer, you can
experience the power of God, and feel the love of Christ. We have anointed contemporary praise and worship, where we raise and clap our hands. We allow room for the Holy Spirit to do what he wants to do. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, 2 Cor. 3:17. There is anointed preaching that is relative to people’s lives. We offer Nursery and Children’s Church during the service. We also have time at the end of service for people to be ministered to one on one at the altar, we will lay hands on you and believe God with you for your miracle. We believe all things are possible to those who believe, Mark 9:23, and God is big enough to meet your every need. God loves you and we pray that you would visit us to find out how great church can be.

We believe there is no other way to Heaven than through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Only his blood can wash away our sins. We believe that we should strive to live a life that is holy and blameless. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. The same miracles that Jesus and the disciples did, we can do today. We believe that God has not lost his power, people have just stopped believing. Mark 16: 17, 18 Jesus said these signs will follow those believe: In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they shall recover."
Come as you are, and be blessed.

It all started when Mr. Ralph “ Mac” Trumbo and his new bride, Julia, moved back to Roanoke in 1973. They had both became Christians and God had given them a hunger and vision to reach the lost of their community. In 1978 the Trumbo’s built a 30 x 60 metal building, and hoped that some day God would use it as a church. Mac and Julia Trumbo became the founder’s of what was then called Roanoke New Beginnings Tabernacle, and held their first service with Pastor Jimmy Parker on October 28, 1979. Wayman Rogers of Evangel Tabernacle, now Evangel World Center helped the Trumbo’s by giving them chairs and moral support. In 1989, under Pastor Naomi Patterson, they built a new facility across the road from their metal building which is Roanoke's current location! In the fall of 2006, God told Pastor Matt Trumbo to build a 2,000 seat church across the road on the property of Mac and Julia Trumbo.

Roanoke is a non-denominational, end times church. Our service times on Sunday are Sunday School at 10 a.m. and Worship service starts at 11 a.m., with nursery provided for children who have not yet attended Kindergarten and under, and Children’s Church for children who are in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.

On Wednesday nights, we provide a meal for everyone at 5:45 p.m. and service starts at 6:30 p.m. After worship we divide into age appropriate categories for children, youth, and adults.

Join us on Wednesday nights immediately following service for corporate prayer, and on Sunday nights where we praise and worship God, and close out our service in prayer thanking and praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Name of Youth Ministry: “Unified”
Scripture: Ephesians 4:2-4
“Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united in the Holy Spirit, and bind yourselves together with peace. We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future.”

Mission/Outreach opportunities
In the summer of 2006 a group of youth traveled to Tylertown, Mississippi to help rebuild from the damages of Katrina.
Summer 2007 we had a lock in at the Wayside Christian Mission Homeless Shelter, where we were given various opportunities to serve women, children, and some families who were living in the shelter.
Also in the Summer of 2007 our youth went on a camping trip to Yogi Bear’s Jelly Stone Campgrounds. There they passed out kid friendly tracks to many kids at the campgrounds, and invited them to a playground near our cabin where our youth hosted a puppet show and face painting in an attempt to share Jesus Christ.

Youth Events
Our Youth attend Fire Fall Youth Convention every year in Louisville Kentucky in order to grow closer to God and to one another. Buddy and Jessica Berry are anointed to bring this inspiring and hilarious presentation to God's children. Get more at www.firefallministries.com

Roanoke House of Prayer believes the purpose of praise and worship is to lead people into the intimate presence of the Lord called the Holy of Holies. Music is a powerful vehicle to this end. We often remember songs or even pieces of songs all day long, as though they were imbedded in us. Worshipping our Creator, is what we are created to do! We worship through a variety of contemporary as well as occasional traditional songs, “lifting holy hands” to our God as we bring Him the fruit of our lips. Join our
Praise team by contacting Jack Stanley at

Prayer is more than just telling God all of our needs, it is communicating with God. 1 Thess. 5:17 says to pray without ceasing. In other words do not stop.
God never meant for us to do all the talking. There are two sides to communication, talking and listening. Many people ask God for things, but never ask God what he wants from them. Spending time and communicating are the keys to having intimacy in any relationship. Prayer changes things, and it invites God to work out his will. 2Chronicles 7:14 says If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Praying gets you close to God, in the perfect will of God, and it's how to have miracles operate in your life! There is nothing that he cannot do. No disease he cannot heal, no family so torn apart that he cannot restore, no heart that he cannot mend.
