Hardin Memorial Health’s Annual “Run for Fun”

Hardin Memorial Hospital Health’s 10th Annual “Run for Fun” 5K with a CrossFit option will be Saturday, November 1st at Freeman Lake Park.  This community family friendly event features kids’ races and a 5K run/walk. With last year’s participation benefitting over 630 children in our local area.  Hardin Memorial Health plans to fund Project Fit America Programs for local schools from proceeds of the 5K Run/ Walk.  For more information and to register for the 10th annual Run For Fun 5K log on to:


Remembrance Walk, Run or Roll/Boot Drive

Fort Campbell is hosting a Hero and Remembrance Walk, Run or Roll, Nov. 1st.  This event calls for military boots to be on display, one boot for each service member who has died while on active duty since 9/11. Boots can be military grade or boots worn by soldiers in combat and can be in any condition provided that they are laced up and able to stand up on their own. Event organizers ask that each boot also include and empty upside down water bottle in each boot for stability. Drop off boots at the Hughes & Coleman office in Elizabethtown, 2110 N. Veterans Day Ceremony

The 3rd annual Veterans Day Ceremony is Tuesday, November 11th starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial inside the E’town Nature Park.  The 2014 ceremony is a coordinated effort between the City of Elizabethtown and American Legion Hardin Post 113. Highlights include the Posting of the Colors and keynote speaker Brigadier General Selectee Barbara L. Owens, Deputy Commanding General, U. S. Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, KY. Lunch follows the ceremony at Post 113, 1251 Ring Rd.

Helping Hands of Hope Thanksgiving Help

On Thanksgiving Day, area churches and Helping Hand of Hope are co-sponsoring a Thanksgiving Dinner. This meal is free and available to individuals and families who are unable to prepare a meal of their own or would like to share a meal with someone.
