Puppy Basics: I have been doing private lessons with new puppies to get them off on the right paw, answering questions for new owners, and showing owners how to start puppy training, and socialization.
Level 1- Basic Obedience: Learn basic sit, lay down, stand, sit stay, come when called, walk politely on a leash and other common household problems.
Level 2: Obedience : Start working off leash with sit stay, down stay, recalling dog with more distractions etc...
CGC (Canine Good Citizen): The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

Hi, my name is Bella Gaudette (on left). I started training dogs in 1984 when we got our first family dog. My husband saw an ad in a local paper for dog training classes and suggested that I take our new pup. Little did he know what he had started!!! I have had the pleasure of owning and showing Border Collies for the past 13 years. We currently share our home with two Border Collies, Skye and Bannock. Bannock at the age of 2 has already been competing in Rally, Obedience
and Conformation I have been competing with
Skye, my seven year old, in Herding, Agility,
Obedience, and, AKC’s newest venue, Rally.
He is titled in all four venues.
I began teaching classes as a member of E-town Dog Training Club until they dissolved. Dr. Brown with Helmwood Vet Clinic then asked if I would consider teaching classes at his clinic and my business has grown from there. I firmly believe that a well trained dog is a happy dog because they know what their rules are and they are afforded so much more freedom to share in our lives when they are well behaved. I believe that the amount of love in a relationship is directly affected by the degree of obedience in that relationship. The Bible teaches us that, “this is Love, that we walk in obedience to His command” (2John 1:6) and I believe that our dog’s relationship with us should be the same. After all….
Here at Bella’s K-9 Academy we work with both the dog and the person. We teach you how to train your dog to help you build a better relationship and to understand how your dog learns. Our goal is for you to have a well behaved dog that can live within your household as a member of the family.
We offer an eight week Basic Obedience class for the beginners where you will teach your dog how to sit, lay down, stand, sit stay, come when called and walk politely on a leash. The behaviors that you will teach your dog will help with such things as jumping on people, darting out doors, excessive pulling on the leash, and other common household problems.
The Level 2 class starts polishing the work that we started in level one and gets the owner and dog started on off leash work, like an off leash recall, longer distance and more distractions on the sit stay, a down stay, and a finish after the recall (getting the dog back to your side. Novice Open, Utility, Rally, and Agility are the showing classes designed by the AKC.
